My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 334

Jabco turned his head to look at Riyana.

The moment she sat inside the car, something about her changed. Just minutes ago she had been smiling, talking, even laughing a little. Now her face looked distant, almost blank. Her lips were pressed together, and her eyes were fixed on the window as if the city outside mattered more than the person sitting beside her.

She did not look at him even once.

The silence inside the car started to feel uncomfortable.

“Let’s stop at a restaurant,” Jabco said after a while, breaking the quiet. He spoke to Cristo, but his eyes stayed on Riyana’s reflection in the glass.

Cristo nodded and focused on the road.

Riyana finally spoke, her voice flat and cold. “Just drop me at home. You can go wherever you want after that.”

She paused, then added without turning her head, “Or if you have a problem with that, stop the car. I’ll take a cab.”

Her words hit him harder than he expected.

Jabco’s jaw tightened. He turned his face away, staring straight ahead. He could feel frustration crawling up his chest, hot and sharp. He had been holding it in since earlier, telling himself not to react, not to push. But her tone, that distance, that way she cut him off like he did not matter, snapped something inside him.

He turned back to her, his voice rising before he could stop it.

“What’s wrong with you?” he said. “You were smiling and talking so happily with everyone else just now. But the moment it’s just me, you put on this attitude?” His eyes burned. “Am I being too easy with you? Is that why you think you can treat me like this?”

His voice was louder than he meant it to be, but once it came out, he could not pull it back.

Riyana finally turned to look at him.

Her eyes were sharp, almost blazing. “Don’t you dare raise your voice at me,” she shouted back.

“I’m not your servant.”

The car felt too small. Too tight.

Jabco closed his eyes for a brief second, trying to breathe, trying not to lose control. But his patience had already cracked. He reached out and grabbed her jaw, not roughly, but firm enough that she could not turn away.

“Riyana,” he said, his voice strained, “I’ve been patient with you this whole time. I’ve tried to understand you, to give you space. Why can’t you do the same for me? Why can’t you show me even a little kindness?”

He meant every word. He really did.

But she only looked at him with hurt and anger mixed together.

“Did I ask you to be patient with me?” she shot back. “No. I didn’t ask you for anything. So why don’t you just leave me alone?”

Her words were sharp, but behind them was something broken.

Slowly, Jabco loosened his grip. His hand fell away from her face. The anger drained from him, leaving only helplessness. He leaned back against the seat, rubbing his face with one hand.

“Fine,” he said quietly. “Then tell me. What do you want me to do?”

Riyana stared at him for a moment. Her chest felt tight, like something heavy was sitting there. She opened her mouth to speak.
