She had been observing them for quite a while, and she was convinced something was up.
"Know each other?" Elena asked, feigning ignorance.
"You told me you could win him over, but I get the feeling you two already knew each other!"
Dylan caught on instantly. He stated coldly, "We don't know each other. Does that have anything to do with you?"
Lisa asked bitterly, "I invited you for a drink earlier and you rejected me. Why are you drinking with her now?"
Dylan shrugged, looking completely helpless. "Because it was love at first sight with this lady."
Elena looked at Lisa and said, "I won. I got him! For tonight, he belongs to me!"
Lisa glared at Dylan furiously. "You have terrible taste! You actually like this peasant!"
Dylan shot right back. "She's not a peasant, but you're definitely the town bicycle!"
Elena glanced at Lisa and shot her a smug look.
"This is infuriating! I can't believe such a perfect man got snatched up by her!" Lisa gritted her teeth.
She couldn't wrap her head around how she, an absolute maneater, had lost to a nobody like Elena.
"Hey gorgeous, remember our bet? It's time to call me your queen," Elena said, looking right at Lisa.
Lisa’s expression curdled with resentment. She never actually expected Elena to succeed!
"We... we were just joking earlier!"
"Joking? If you say it was just a joke, maybe I should call the cops and let them decide if this was a joke or not."
Lisa snapped angrily, "It was just a harmless joke, and you actually want to call the cops? Aren't you making a mountain out of a molehill? Do you really think the police have nothing better to do than deal with this?"
Elena smiled. "The police might not care about the bet, but I had the waiter hold onto that glass of liquor from earlier. If I hand it over to the cops and have them test it, I'm pretty sure they'd find something very interesting."
Panic instantly set in for Lisa.
After saying it, she and her friend scrambled away in total humiliation.
Elena watched them flee and chuckled.
They were way too amateur to try and play games with her.
"Why did you even bother with them?" Dylan asked.
"They actually had the nerve to drug your drink. Of course I had to teach them a lesson. You're my fiancé, after all. Did you think I was just going to sit back and watch someone else prey on you? If I hadn't shown up tonight, would you have fallen into her trap?"
"You underestimate me. I would never get involved with women like that."
With that, the two of them left the bar.
Elena noticed how much Dylan smelled like alcohol and told him, "It's getting late. Let me take you back to the Sinclair estate!"
"I don't want to go back!" Dylan loosened his collar, suddenly feeling a surge of heat coursing through his body.
