When a physical altercation broke out among the staff, Director Sienna Hayes rushed over.
"What's going on here? Why are you all gathered around?" Sienna demanded.
"Director, Elena beat Tina up like this. You have to step in and do something!" Elaine quickly spoke up.
Tina looked seriously battered; her nose was bleeding, and her hair was a mess.
Sienna shot her a glance, then looked over at Elena.
"What exactly happened? Elena, tell me."
Before Elena could speak, Claire quickly explained, "Director, it's all my fault. Elena was just trying to defend me. Tina was spreading rumors in the office, calling me a homewrecker. When Elena heard her, she slapped her."
Sienna grasped the gist of the situation.
"Were you spreading rumors?" Sienna directed her gaze at Tina.
"It's not a rumor, it's a fact," Tina argued. "It's already been reported in the news, so how can it be a rumor!"
"The news is the news. As a member of LUMEN Studio, instead of focusing on your work, why are you obsessing over tabloids? Besides, is everything reported in the news necessarily true? Claire has been working here for a while now. Is there really a need for such hostility between colleagues? Tina, do you still not realize where you went wrong?"
Elaine was completely baffled. Elena was clearly the one who got physical, so why was the victim, Tina, being blamed?
"Director, I didn't do anything wrong. Elena hit me!" Tina protested indignantly. "You should fire someone like her. Why are you blaming me?"
"She did get physical, but wasn't it because you couldn't keep your mouth shut? If you minded your own business and stopped stirring up trouble, none of this would have happened."
"Director, you're being completely biased!" Furious, Tina actually dared to snap right back at Sienna.
Even Elaine broke into a cold sweat on her behalf.
"Director, you're not firing the person who committed assault, but you're firing me? That's not fair! It's not fair!" Tina shrieked in anger.
"I am the director of this studio, and what I say goes. If you want fairness, wait until you're sitting in my chair to talk to me about it. Now pack your things and get out!"
"No! No!" Tina screamed hysterically.
But Sienna completely ignored her and called security over to escort her out.
The bystanders all lowered their heads, not daring to make a sound.
With Tina getting fired, no one dared to stick their neck out right now, unless they wanted to lose their job too.
Finding a good job was tough these days, and they certainly didn't want to lose their livelihoods.
