"Are you heading back to your apartment after dinner?" Elena asked.
"No, let's go to the clinic to visit Sean Maddox. Didn't you say you wanted to check on him?"
Elena raised an eyebrow. "You aren't jealous?"
"Why would I be? He got hurt protecting you. I imagine you must be worried about him."
Rather than having Elena sneak off to see Sean behind his back, he figured it was better to be open and take her there himself. That way, he'd feel much better about the whole situation.
"Alright then. I certainly didn't expect you to be so understanding."
"So, how are you going to reward me?"
"What kind of reward do you want?"
Dylan gazed at her with a soft smile. "I want a kiss. Will you give me one?"
"Sure, it's just a kiss. Do you want it right now?"
Elena didn't mind kissing him right there in the restaurant.
"No, I'll put it on your tab. I'll collect it when we have some privacy!"
After dinner, the two of them headed to Seraphis Private Clinic to visit Sean.
To their surprise, Bianca Fairchild was already there.
"Oh, Elena, you made it!" Bianca greeted her.
Hearing that Elena had arrived, Sean immediately looked up. The dull look in his eyes instantly vanished, replaced by a sudden spark of light.
But as soon as he saw Dylan trailing right behind her, that spark quickly faded away.
"Are you feeling any better, Sean?" Elena walked over and asked.
"Much better, Boss. I should be able to get out of this bed soon."
"That's good to hear. Let me check your pulse just to be sure."
Elena pressed her fingers to his pulse point, eyes narrowing as she felt the steady thrum. "You’re healing faster than I expected. Seeing your condition improve takes a load off my mind."
"Elena, since we've checked in on him, let's head back," Dylan interjected.
"I'll get going then. Bianca, keep him company for a bit!"
