"Come in."
Elena stepped into the opulent suite and handed him the manila folder.
"Mr. Lawson, please review the drafts."
Lawson carelessly flipped through the sketches for a few seconds before tossing them onto the glass coffee table.
"If there are no further issues, Mr. Lawson, I'll be heading back to the office."
"Hold on a minute. These designs are terrible," he said.
"Are they?" Elena frowned slightly, taking the sketches back to inspect them.
While they were far below her own personal standards, they were more than solid enough for the current commercial market.
This had to be Elaine's own work.
"Mr. Lawson, how about this? I'll take them back to the office, run some revisions, and present them to you again," she offered professionally.
"Don't you know today is the absolute deadline?" Lawson barked. "Failing to deliver today means you're in breach of contract! LUMEN Studio is supposed to be a top-tier firm, yet you've dragged out a few simple sketches for months. It's a joke!"
Seeing his artificial outrage, Elena didn't miss a beat. She set her bag down and pulled out a sleek sketching pen.
"In that case, Mr. Lawson, I will draft a new concept for you right here. I guarantee you'll be satisfied."
Just as she lowered her pen to the blank paper, Lawson suddenly reached out and grabbed her hand.
"What do you think you're doing?" Elena snatched her hand back instantly, glaring at the man with cold caution.
"Miss Whelan, there's actually a much simpler way to resolve this," Lawson said, a sleazy smirk spreading across his face. "Keep me company here today. Make sure I have a good time, and I'll greenlight these designs without another word."
Elena stared at him, her expression hardening.
She had always viewed design as a pure, respected art form. She hadn't expected to encounter such blatant, disgusting industry harassment.
"If you're looking for an escort, you've got the wrong girl. LUMEN Studio secures contracts through sheer talent. If you don't want me to draft a new design right now, then we are done here."
"Wait, wait. Fine, draw something. I'll give you a chance," Lawson said, leaning back and crossing his legs arrogantly.
