"Get the hell out! Get out! I don't ever want to see your face again!" Charles screamed.
Lorna burst into tears, entirely overwhelmed by his cruelty. "Charles, I came here today to share some good news. I'm pregnant. We're having a baby. You told me you wanted to start a big family with me. Did you forget?"
The word 'pregnant' only fueled Charles's explosive rage.
Who wanted to start a family with her?!
He wanted to have children with the heiress of the Ellington family—children who actually had value!
What good was a baby with the daughter of a servant? To raise another maid?
"Get out! That kid isn't mine! God knows where you picked up that bastard, but don't you dare try to use it to trap me! Get out! Are you deaf?"
Charles grabbed Lorna by the shirt, violently dragging her out into the hallway before slamming the door shut and locking it.
A moment later, his phone rang.
It was a former colleague, demanding the money he was owed.
And it wasn't just colleagues—it was the bank, his relatives, everyone he had ever borrowed from.
Blinded by fury, he smashed his phone against the wall.

The next day.
Theresa and Logan had just arrived at the entrance of the Ellington Group headquarters when Charles sprinted out of nowhere.
He threw himself onto the pavement, blocking Theresa's path in a pathetic display of desperation.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Theresa gasped, caught off guard.
Logan swiftly kicked him aside.
Unfazed, Charles crawled back toward her like a beaten dog. "Theresa, I know I was wrong! Everything that happened before was my fault. I've completely broken things off with Lorna. Please, don't shut me out!"
"I'm willing to give you another chance. Can we just start over? After all this time, I finally realized that you're the only one I truly love. I can't live without you, Theresa!"
