She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 226

The girl who had once fled from the countryside was now decked out in designer brands, a stark contrast to the simple clothes she’d worn while riding her bike up the mountain that day.

Interesting!

As Loyce observed the others, they were observing her.

This drew a sharp reprimand from Hallie at the front of the room. She tapped the whiteboard. “I said my time is limited. Either pay attention or leave.”

The girls immediately refocused. Cyrilla whispered to Loyce, “Hallie is really brilliant. Robert said her father is a senior doctor at the Military General Hospital, and she’s a foreign-educated PhD. A real intellectual.”

Loyce just said, “Oh.”

Seeing her lack of reaction, Cyrilla offered some fake reassurance. “But I still think you’re more impressive, Loyce.”

Hallie lectured for forty minutes before finally taking a short break, tasking the students with solving a competition-level problem on the board.

Cyrilla stretched. “Finally, a break.”

“Is Loyce teaching the next session?” one of the other girls asked.

“I think it’s still Hallie,” another replied. “It seems your friend Loyce isn’t teaching us at all.”

Cyrilla said, “Loyce is incredibly smart. She’s just not well-rested lately. The problems on that board are child’s play for her.”

Hallie, still standing by the whiteboard, remarked, “How many days has it been since I arrived? Has this girl next to you taught you a single lesson?”

Cyrilla’s face stiffened. “Hallie, please don’t say that. Loyce is really amazing.”

Just then, Loyce’s phone vibrated. She checked it—time was up. The data from her analysis of the machine was ready. Picking up the jar of pudding, she stood up and walked out of Cyrilla’s room.

Cyrilla immediately chased after her, feigning concern. “Loyce, don’t take what they said to heart. No one was questioning you.”

Loyce glanced at her. “I didn’t take it to heart. I just have something to do. Can you let me get back to it?”

Cyrilla let go of her arm. “Alright, then you can tutor me next time.”

Loyce didn’t respond and simply walked away.

As soon as Cyrilla returned to her room, she said to Hallie with an embarrassed expression, “It seems Loyce couldn’t solve the Olympiad problem, so she left.”

Hallie smiled smugly. “I knew it. She couldn’t even follow the lesson, let alone solve the problem.”
