She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 403

Saphira tactfully stepped aside, inadvertently giving Mabel a clear, close-up view of the Lonsdale heiress's face.

"Ms. Lonsdale, your staff—"

Mabel's words died in her throat. The frantic anxiety on her face instantly froze, then shattered completely.

"Loyce?"

The face that had just been flushed and twisted with rage drained of all color, turning as white as a sheet. Her eyes bulged to the point of tearing, locked dead onto Loyce, who was sitting gracefully in the center seat, bathed in dazzling light and surrounded by the absolute titans of the business world.

This was the very same Loyce she had pointed a finger at in the hospital, screaming that she was a "murderer" and "unfit to be a teacher," even threatening to call the cops and have her thrown in prison!

Wasn't Loyce just from some basic, middle-class family?!

Why was this completely different from what Cyrilla had told them?!

The other parents who had rushed up behind her also froze in shock as they registered Loyce's face.

"Mrs. Windsor," Loyce said, taking a slow sip of the coffee Saphira had poured. Her voice wasn't loud, but it echoed clearly through the dead-silent venue, carrying the effortless authority of someone accustomed to power. "Did you just say there was a mistake with the list?"

Among the parents who had just arrived, one asked in a trembling, disbelieving voice, "H-How could you be the Lonsdale heiress?"

Loyce set down her cup and tapped a document on the table in front of her, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Haven't I already told you who I am? Who was it that didn't believe me?"

She had crossed out their qualifications for Futura-Silicon right in front of their faces back then, but none of them had believed her, choosing instead to blindly trust Cyrilla's empty promises.

"This is a personal vendetta! I didn't even press charges over my daughter getting hurt! How could you retaliate against us like this?!" Mabel's voice was shrill. "Are you trying to make your own scandals public?!"

Someone next to her immediately chimed in, practically groveling. "Yes, Ms. Lonsdale! Let's just settle this right here! We can settle this! What happened before was our fault, but you absolutely cannot cut off our livelihoods and ruin our businesses like this."

The commotion caused by these few families had already drawn the attention of everyone in the room.

Loyce smiled faintly. "I didn't retaliate against you. And blacklisting you wasn't just because of that little incident."

Mabel glared. "Then what else is there?!"
