"What? Dennis? As in Dennis from the Royal Art Academy? Like she actually has his personal number?"
"Hilarious. Who does she think Dennis is? He's the absolute pinnacle of the art world, a master among masters, and she's just giving him orders?"
But a moment later, Loyce hung up the phone. She looked at Louis, her gaze dripping with irony. "Turns out, you didn't even graduate from that third-rate college. You were expelled for plagiarism and abysmal grades. Which means your resume is entirely forged."
Louis's expression finally shattered. Shock quickly melted into raw terror.
Did she actually know Dennis?! Did she just get the titan of the art world to investigate a nobody like him?! There was no way!
Before he could process it, Louis's phone began to ring. The caller ID flashed the name of his former classmate—the founder of Celeste.
His hands trembled violently as he answered the call. Everyone in the room watched as the color rapidly drained from his face, leaving him a ghastly, sickly pale.
He dropped the phone and practically scrambled over to Loyce, throwing himself onto his knees with a loud thud.
"Director! Director, I was wrong! Please, you can't let them expose my real resume! You can't let 'Celeste' sue me for plagiarism! With their current brand value, even if I sold my organs, I couldn't afford the compensation!"
Celeste had built a solid international reputation as an emerging luxury brand over the last two years. Louis had copied their hottest sellers directly. A plagiarism lawsuit would cost him hundreds of millions.
He and Lila weren't even core members of the Seabrook family; they were distant relatives at best. With Bloomberry tanking, there was absolutely no way Alicia Seabrook would lift a finger to save him!
With his arrogance entirely vaporized, Louis knelt before Loyce, looking as if he was ready to kiss the tips of her shoes.
"I was wrong. I was so wrong. I swear I'll change."
Loyce didn't even spare him a second glance. She slowly panned her gaze across the paralyzed faces at the round table and began reading down the list.
"Marketing Deputy Manager. Falsified five hundred thousand in offline promotional expenses last quarter. Where did the money actually go?"
