Another meteorologist pushed up his glasses, his tone urgent. "Yes, Loyce! We know you're worried sick, but leave the professional work to the professionals. The left route is the optimal choice we calculated by combining geology, meteorology, and the last signal location of Mr. Lonsdale's team! The blizzard is intensifying; we don't have time to waste on detours!"
"Admiral Shapiro, please be careful!" an experienced field exploration expert yelled into the microphone. "The situation on the right route is unknown, the risks are equally huge. In this extreme environment, following the consensus of the majority of experts and real-time data is the safest bet! We can't risk the entire team's safety on a... a theoretical guess!"
The atmosphere in the tent grew tense again. Almost all the experts leaned towards the left route, viewing Loyce's judgment as too risky and subjective. She didn't explain further, leaving the choice to Lucian.
If he chose the left side against her advice, this rescue mission was doomed to fail, and she would have no choice but to head into the mountains alone.
Just then, Lucian's steady voice came through the comms, cutting off all arguments without a trace of hesitation:
"Take the right."
Clear, decisive, unquestionable.
"Admiral!"
A few experts exclaimed in shock, disbelief written all over their faces.
They couldn't understand why Lucian would so easily dismiss the collective judgment of a room full of experienced experts to adopt a young girl's seemingly data-lacking 'intuition'.
Lucian's voice, over the static, remained steady but carried an unquestionable power: "I trust Loyce's judgment. Execute orders. Redirect to the right route."
He gave no further explanation, but that absolute trust hit everyone like a hammer.
Some even felt that this iron-blooded admiral in his thirties had completely lost his mind to love, gambling his life and the lives of so many men on a single girl.
Everyone seemed to foresee a doomed ending.
On the main screen, the sensors representing the left route suddenly flashed glaring red warnings! Simulations of massive snow and rock avalanches popped up frantically!
"The left route... A massive avalanche and cave-in on the left route! It's completely buried! Oh my god!" a technician cried out, his voice cracking.
Dead silence fell in the tent. You could hear a pin drop.
The experts who had just objected turned pale, staring at the catastrophic data in horror, then whipping their heads to look at the calm but focused Loyce. Their eyes were filled with lingering fear, shame, and sheer disbelief.
If they had taken the left route...
Lucian and his team would have been completely wiped out!
This young woman's analysis was perfectly accurate!
