Yolene immediately chimed in, directing her words at Holt with a grating, faux-friendly tone of false concern. "Holt, let me give you some advice—wake up! This Loyce isn't as simple as you think. On one hand, she's your obsessed, crazy stalker fan, and on the other, she's Hank Lonsdale's bedmate. The mess she's dragging you into gives me a headache just looking at it! Are you trying to use her to cozy up to Hank and get your lead singer spot back? Be careful not to burn yourself alive! The audience isn't blind; do you really think they'll buy this? And besides..."
She lowered her voice, though she deliberately made sure everyone could hear her venomous words. "If you mess with Hank Lonsdale's personal property, given his temper, he will absolutely destroy you. You won't even know what hit you!"
Holt looked at her with the sheer absurdity one might reserve for a lunatic. His voice was ice. "Yolene, have you completely lost your mind? You're spewing pure garbage."
Yolene's expression stiffened violently. She couldn't believe Holt would insult her so blatantly to her face. Fury quickly consumed her, and her voice spiked into a shrill shriek. "I'm trying to help you out, and you have the nerve to be ungrateful?! Do you think you're still an A-lister? If I hadn't lowered my standards to shoot that magazine cover with you to keep your name relevant, who would even remember you over Vincent?!"
Holt didn't back down for a second. "Sorry, but I have absolutely no desire to shoot a magazine with you."
His eyes were filled with profound disgust. "Staying the hell away from me is the biggest favor you could ever do."
Yolene's blood boiled. Unable to hold back any longer, she hurled all her jealousy and rage at the quiet woman beside him. "And you! Loyce! Don't think that just because Hank Lonsdale has your back, you can do whatever you want! Do you really think Mr. Lonsdale is going to tolerate his younger brother fooling around forever? Gordon absolutely despises this kind of dirty, scandalous tabloid trash! Once the disgusting things you've done are fully exposed, just wait and see how the rest of the Lonsdale family deals with you! We'll see if Hank is still willing to protect a massive liability like you!"
Finn chimed in from the sidelines, feigning goodwill while deliberately pouring gas on the fire. "Loyce, take my advice. The public narrative is incredibly stacked against you right now. If you go to the police and turn yourself in, you might still get a lighter sentence. If you wait until Hank gets bored of you and throws you to the wolves, you're going to be in a much worse position. You'll be looking at hard time."
Loyce, who had been completely silent up until now, finally raised her head. Her clear, piercing eyes locked onto Finn, and a faint, icy smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. "I'll return that exact advice right back to you. I only hope that when the time comes, you'll still be this 'helpful.'"
Finn frowned, a sudden, inexplicable wave of unease washing over him.
