Wyatt's expression hardened. "Don't get cocky. That bodyguard is a walking tank. If he was sober, the two of us together wouldn't stand a chance against him. Make sure you pump the knockout gas into their room."
"Let's just get this over with. Once we finish this job, we get the money and the new house." Wade gave Cassie's backside a firm slap, then reached around to rub her pregnant belly. "Wherever my son wants to live, that's where we'll set up our new life."
The faint click of the bedroom door locking shut severed the hypocritical, predatory gazes of the trio outside.
Loyce supported the seemingly dead-drunk Lucian, aiming to guide him to the bed so he could sleep it off. But before she could even turn, a sudden, inescapable force clamped around her wrist.
The world spun, and in the next second, her back hit the slightly stiff mattress.
The heavy, scorching heat of a man's body immediately blanketed her. His breath, heavy with the sharp scent of alcohol, ghosted over her neck, the heat so intense she instinctively shrank back.
"Lucian?" Loyce frowned, keeping her voice to a barely audible whisper, lacing it with a question.
"Mmh..." The man on top of her seemed entirely at the mercy of the alcohol. He buried his face in the crook of her neck, letting out a low, muffled groan as he shifted comfortably. Yet, his arms locked around her like steel bands, trapping her against him with terrifying, immovable strength.
"I think I drank too much. I don't have an ounce of energy left," he murmured thickly, his burning lips 'accidentally' grazing the sensitive shell of her ear.
Their bodies were pressed flush against each other. Through the thin layers of their clothing, she could feel the erratic, heavy pounding of his heart and the blistering heat radiating from his skin.
"Did they drug the alcohol?" Loyce framed his face with her hands, studying him intensely, her brow furrowing. "You shouldn't have let your guard down like that."
"Mm, no. I don't think so." He lowered his head, pressing his cheek deeply into her palm, nuzzling against it like a massive, lethargic predator. "I'm just tired. I want to rest for a bit... we probably won't get to sleep much later anyway."
"Then get some rest." Loyce dropped her hands, lightly patting his waist, signaling for him to roll off her.
Instead, the man simply shifted his weight, keeping one arm securely banded around her while his free hand reached out, grabbing the quilt at the foot of the bed and pulling it entirely over them.
They ended up completely entangled, him slightly above her.
Loyce rested against Lucian's rock-hard chest. The deep rumble of his voice vibrated through his ribcage, sending a terrifyingly pleasant shiver straight to her ears.
Ten minutes passed.
"That should be enough, right?"
"Ms. Lonsdale? You awake? Want a midnight snack?" Cassie yelled from the hallway.
Not a single sound came from the bedroom.
"They're out cold."
The door was shoved wide open. Wade swaggered up to the bed, a massive butcher knife glinting in his hand. Staring down at the two intertwined bodies, a vile grin split his face. "I knew this bitch was nothing but a slut sneaking around with her muscle. Gotta admit though, she's got an incredible body."
Wyatt roughly dragged Lucian off the bed and dumped him on the floor. He stood over Loyce, panting heavily, audibly swallowing his saliva. "You're not kidding. She's gorgeous."
Catching the look in his brother's eyes, Wade immediately caught on. "Hey, since you still don't have a woman, why don't you have some fun with this one first? We can kill her after you're done."
