She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 500

Silas snapped out of his shock, dropping the girl who was beaten half to death, grabbed a thick wooden club, and followed Wade out the door.

Watching the two men charge at her with murderous intent, Loyce didn't back away. She stepped right into their path.

Relying on his brute strength, Wade swung the heavy iron hoe directly at Loyce's head. The force behind the swing was lethal—he was going for a one-hit kill.

But Loyce was infinitely faster, and terrifyingly precise. She slipped past the arc of the heavy weapon effortlessly, closing the distance between them in the blink of an eye.

Wade felt a blinding pain in his wrists. Before his brain could even process what happened, the hoe had been ripped from his grip.

Loyce gripped the wooden handle and, without a shred of hesitation, drove the blunt end brutally into Wade's stomach.

"Urk—!"

Wade's eyes bulged from their sockets. His stomach violently convulsed, and he dropped straight to his knees, dry heaving in agony.

At that exact second, Silas's club came crashing down toward the back of Loyce's head.

As if she had eyes in the back of her skull, Loyce ducked and pivoted with flawless grace, letting the weapon sail over her.

Using her momentum, she swept the heavy handle of the hoe backward in a devastating arc.

*Crack!*

The solid wood smashed perfectly into the back of Silas's knees.

"Agh!" Silas shrieked, his legs buckling completely as he crashed hard onto the muddy ground. Loyce didn't pause for a fraction of a second. She spun around, driving the hard heel of her boot directly into his face.

Wade managed to force himself up and lunged at Loyce again. Seeing this, Silas dragged himself back into the house and emerged with a hunting shotgun, aiming it squarely at Loyce.

The battered, bleeding girl on the floor threw her head back and screamed toward the shattered window, "He has a gun!"

A split second later, Cassie yanked the girl backward by her hair, and the two began fighting violently on the floor.

The moment Loyce saw the shotgun, she abandoned any thought of leaving these men alive. She kicked Wade viciously in the chest, dropping him back to his knees. In one fluid, lethal motion, she clamped her hands around his head and wrenched it violently in Silas's direction.

The sharp, horrifying *snap* of his neck breaking echoed through the rain. Wade's eyes went instantly hollow as his lifeless body crumpled into the mud.

"Ahhh! You killed him!"

Terrified out of his mind by the sheer, inhuman lethality of the girl, Silas panicked and started firing the shotgun wildly, desperate to blow her apart. But Loyce moved like a phantom, flawlessly weaving through the chaos without a single pellet grazing her. Spotting the butcher knife Wade had dropped earlier, she scooped it up.

Cassie shrieked in agony and collapsed onto the floor.

Silas's mother rushed out to help, but Loyce stopped her dead with a voice like absolute zero. "Your son is dead. Aren't you going to look?"

The old crone froze. She scrambled to the door, saw the corpse in the mud, and collapsed into hysterical wailing.

Loyce pulled up an unbroken stool and sat down. Slumped against the wall, the battered girl gasped for breath and looked up at her, speaking first.

"I was tricked into coming here last year. My name is Una. I'm a student at Palmfield University."

Loyce had already pieced most of it together. Resting her chin on her hand, she asked, "You're a top-tier university student. You aren't stupid. How did you get kidnapped?"

Una glared with pure hatred at the unconscious Cassie on the floor. "She used to work in our campus cafeteria. Her real name is Cassie. Because she had no degree, and supposedly had a sick mother and a disabled brother to support, she came to work at Palmfield. I bought into her sob story. I went to her line every day for food, and we eventually became good friends."

Una forced herself to stand, her entire body trembling with rage as she pointed at Cassie. "But she was lying to me the entire time! She played the victim, built a friendship with me, all so she could lure me out here to the country. She sold me to these monsters to breed for them! And to be passed around to entertain the rich!"

"I just don't understand it. She swore to me that she was a trafficking victim too. Why would she help these men destroy other women?" Completely consumed by rage, Una stomped brutally on Cassie's back. "Because of you, my education is ruined! My body is ruined! The rest of my life is completely destroyed!"

Loyce's eyes narrowed dangerously. "The rich? Entertain?"
