Ms. Walker bowed repeatedly as she backed out of the room. The moment the door clicked shut, Giselle grabbed Loyce's hand and pulled her toward a draped curtain. Jean Morgan reached out and pulled the fabric aside, revealing the true four-piece seasonal collection.
The unique designs, combined with the rare, out-of-print fabric, made for an absolutely stunning final product.
Loyce nodded in approval. "The fabric you chose is perfect. It fits the theme flawlessly."
Jean blushed, looking a bit shy. "It's mostly because the material is so incredibly rare. With fabric this good, you could sew it into a pile of rags and people would still call it high art."
Then, recalling Ms. Walker's calculating, sycophantic expression, Jean frowned. "You were completely right, Ms. Lonsdale. Ms. Walker has sneaked people into the tailoring room several times and secretly snapped photos to send to Élégance. Why didn't you just call her out in front of everyone?"
Loyce had known from the start. Bloomberry used to be Alicia Seabrook's domain. Even though Loyce had cleaned house, a few holdovers still had ulterior motives. Ms. Walker, for instance, played the role of the perfectly obedient subordinate while secretly acting as a mole for Alicia.
Loyce offered a faint smile. "I'm using this opportunity to smoke out the last of the traitors. Besides, if I exposed her now, how would the show at Nexus Design go on? Bloomberry's reputation is going to be built by stepping right over Élégance."
This brand had once been bled dry by Seabrook family insiders. It was only fair she bled them in return.
Jean gave her a thumbs-up. "You're seriously amazing, Ms. Lonsdale."
"What about the other new pieces for the retail line?" Loyce asked.
Jean led her to an adjoining room. "The new basics are already in mass production."
"Good." Loyce nodded. "When the time comes, we'll pull all the old Bloomberry inventory from the official website. We're only selling the new collection."
"There's one more issue," Jean noted. "A lot of our physical stores have been shut down. If we reopen, we'll have to do full renovations."
"There's no rush. For now, we're sticking exclusively to online sales. I'll be scouting new locations for the physical storefronts."
Yolene's post read: *During my time away reflecting, I hope you all have been well.*
The attached photo showed the back of a woman in a trench coat. The coat's exquisite, unique tailoring, paired with the woman's delicate profile, had already caused a massive stir online.
The PR manager explained, "Yolene hasn't made many public appearances lately. She's been out in rural areas doing charity work, set up a foundation, and even partnered with animal rescues to save thousands of stray dogs from being put down."
Giselle looked confused. "Why would they do their PR push early? I remember the Nexus Design rules specifically stating that the final garments are to be debuted on the runway. Didn't Élégance just break the rules?"
Jean chimed in, "She got so much hate before, but this whole dog-rescuing thing has really won people over. Every article I've seen about her lately has been positive. Her reputation is bouncing back, and a few brands and casting directors are already reaching out to her again."
Sure enough, the comment section under Yolene's post was overwhelmingly positive, filled with praise and support.
