She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 611

"So that's how it is! Mr. Lonsdale is really... quite the hero!" Officer Ken suppressed a smile, trying his best to keep his expression stern and professional. "Don't worry, we'll take these people back to the station and handle them strictly!"

At that moment, Loyce walked over, gently supporting Marcella. Seeing Forrest's disheveled state, Marcella felt a mix of sympathy and amusement. She pulled out her handkerchief to wipe his face. "Oh, you sweet boy, you really went all out... thank you so much! But your clothes, they look terribly expensive."

Forrest allowed the older woman to wipe his face with the herb-scented cloth. Despite the awkwardness, it warmed his heart. "I'm fine, Marcella. The clothes don't matter."

Seeing her brother trying to maintain his composure despite looking like he'd just been through a hurricane, Loyce couldn't help but smile. She handed him a bottle of water. "Here, Forrest. Drink some water. Catch your breath."

He took the water. Catching the teasing glint in his sister's eyes, then glancing at the officers who were trying desperately not to laugh, and finally looking at the handcuffed, dumbfounded scammers on the ground, Forrest experienced what it meant to have his 'professional image completely ruined' for the first time in his life.

But surprisingly, he didn't feel annoyed. Instead, he felt a vibrant, refreshing sense of simply being alive.

He took a long sip of water, adjusted his expression, and smoothly reclaimed the steady aura of the Lonsdale Group's CEO. "Officer Ken, I'll leave the rest of this scene to you."

However, his torn shirt and the mysterious powder dusting his shoulders still silently testified to a chaotic brawl that felt entirely at odds with his billionaire status.

This incident was destined to become a favorite piece of gossip over coffee for everyone present, especially Officer Ken.

On the drive back that evening, the group finished off the Roasted Candied Chestnuts they had bought. The two seniors chatted excitedly about the fake supplement bust. Zelie didn't fully understand it all, but she chimed in happily. Sitting beside them, Forrest watched the soft smile on his sister's face, feeling a profound tenderness in his chest.

Loyce suddenly turned to him. "I'm sorry for dragging you into so much trouble today, Forrest."

He peeled a chestnut and handed it to her. "I actually had a great time today. It was complete chaos, but for once, it made life feel incredibly fun instead of just a monotonous routine."

He gently ruffled her hair. Meeting his warm gaze, Loyce said softly, "We should go out and do this more often, then?"

"I'd love that," he replied gently.

Forrest had always been chained to his family duties and corporate responsibilities, unable to just relax and do normal things. Loyce's arrival had changed everything.

"I am truly so happy to have you in my life, Loyce," Forrest said earnestly.
