She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 692

Luna is clearly in her element. She moves through the water with effortless grace, her jumps powerful, her serves and spikes calculated and vicious. Every point she scores is accompanied by a triumphant, boastful laugh, drawing even more attention.

It is as if she is venting all her suppressed rage onto the ball. She looks like a fiery, thorny rose, drawing cheers from the sidelines. Basking in the spotlight, she hits the ball harder and harder.

Lucian's team is struggling. They are heavily relying on the two officers on their side who are decent swimmers.

Luna's technique is exceptional. Even the two men on Loyce's side can't return her serves. Worse, she seems to be intentionally aiming her high-velocity spikes right at Loyce's chest and shoulders.

Though Loyce blocks them in time, the impacts are jarring.

On the shore, a few girls exchange frowns and start muttering.

"It feels like she's purposely targeting Loyce. She already said she doesn't know how to play. Why is Luna going so hard?"

The next second—Splash!

Trying to catch a tricky angled shot from Luna, Loyce loses her balance and falls backward into the water.

Seeing Loyce's momentum break, Luna looks utterly smug. "You okay, Loyce?" she calls out with fake sweetness.

Lucian instantly cuts through the water, his strong arms hauling Loyce up. His eyes tighten with concern. "Are you alright? We don't have to play."

Loyce wipes the water from her face, looking a bit disheveled. She really isn't used to these wild party games.

Taking advantage of her silence, Luna adds, "It's just a game! If you're uncomfortable, we can stop. Having fun is what matters most."

One of the girls on the edge of the pool can't hold back anymore. "If you know having fun is what matters, maybe you shouldn't hit so aggressively? She literally told you she's a beginner."

Channing immediately jumps to Luna's defense. "Whether it's work or play, Luna always gives one hundred percent. You can't blame her for being dedicated."

Loyce steadies herself, water dripping from her hair. Ignoring Luna's faux concern and Channing's weak defense, she gently brushes Lucian's arm away and gives him a reassuring look.

She turns to the girl who defended her and smiles warmly. "Thanks for caring. I'm fine."

Then, her gaze shifts across the net to Luna. "You're right, games should be taken seriously. Your technique is great, Luna. I've already learned a lot from you."

Her calm, unbothered tone instantly diffuses the tension.

Luna's smug expression falters. She expected Loyce to be angry, embarrassed, or to quit entirely. Instead, hitting Loyce feels like punching cotton.
