She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 740

Bonick's face darkened completely. He despised two things above all else: academic fraud and bullying. If Jethro was telling the truth—despite his deep reservations about the kid's character—it meant the academy's panel was corrupt...

"What is the name of this judge?" Bonick demanded coldly. "I just spoke with their Chancellor. I can go demand an explanation right now."

Jethro was ecstatic. His uncle believed him! Just as he was about to dramatically reveal Loyce's name and exaggerate her "arrogance," Winston's voice rang out from nearby. "Professor, we're back."

Jethro spun around and saw Loyce walking toward them, right beside Winston!

His throat instantly seized. The name died on his tongue. His face contorted into a mask of pure, unadulterated horror.

Hallie saw Loyce too. Her body jerked violently, and she stumbled backward, her eyes wide with terror.

Why are they together?!!!

Bonick followed their gaze. Seeing Loyce approach, his expression softened, and he waved her over. "Loyce, over here. I actually have something I need to ask you."

Loyce walked over with effortless grace, her calm eyes sweeping over Jethro's paralyzed face and Hallie's bloodless one, before landing on Bonick. "What is it, Professor?"

Standing behind Loyce, Winston looked at the two terrified figures. Connecting their expressions to the bits of gossip he had overheard near the academic building, a highly entertained smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Bonick pointed at Jethro, his tone calm but inquiring. "This is a distant relative of mine, Jethro. He claims he was unfairly targeted and maliciously humiliated by a young guest judge during the S-Tier assessment today. He says Hallie here was also wrongly disciplined because of it. You were just at the assessment. Do you know anything about this? Was this judge really as vicious as he claims?"

The silence that followed was deafening.

Every student who knew the truth—including Bonick's own research team, who were well aware of Loyce's schedule—stared at Jethro in utter disbelief, then at Loyce, and finally at Professor Bonick, who was waiting earnestly for an answer.

Jethro's face went completely translucent. Cold sweat soaked through his shirt.

Hallie's knees buckled. She looked like she was about to pass out.

Loyce heard the question. Her eyebrow twitched slightly.

She looked at Jethro, who was violently shaking and refusing to meet her eyes, then at the collapsing Hallie. A look of complete understanding washed over her, followed by a slow, brilliant smile.

She didn't answer Bonick immediately. Instead, she took two steps forward, stopping right in front of Jethro. She tilted her head slightly, her voice crystal clear, laced with an almost innocent curiosity.

"The 'ridiculously young' judge with 'powerful backing' who 'deliberately targeted' and 'publicly humiliated' you..."
