She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 830

It had only been a few hours since the incident began; there was definitely still time to intercept him. Loyce immediately called her brothers and Hugo, activating every single contact and resource available to her on the dark web.

Things moved incredibly fast. Unfortunately, the people operating in the shadows moved faster.

Stellar Trust was also involved, burning through millions of dollars to completely erase Lucian's digital footprint and physical trail.

By noon the following day.

After tearing apart every intelligence network available, they finally found his location.

But the report Quintin delivered was nothing short of catastrophic.

"The boss boarded a chopper yesterday at 1700 hours, fully geared for a combat drop. At exactly 1200 hours today, the helicopter crashed into the western desert sector. The chassis completely disintegrated and caught fire on impact. All ten operatives on board, including the pilot... were killed in action."

The moment the words left the speaker, the entire study was sucked into a suffocating vacuum.

*Crash.*

The porcelain teacup slipped from Zeke's hands, shattering against the floor. Boiling tea soaked into the expensive rug. The old man violently shot up from his chair, but his vision went pitch black. He swayed dangerously, only saved from collapsing by his butler grabbing him. His chest heaved wildly, his lips trembling, but no sound came out. His aged eyes were blown wide with absolute, unadulterated terror. "Impossible!"

Gordon Lonsdale was completely horrified. "How the hell could a man like him go down in a random crash?! Impossible!" His heart ached, terrified of what this would do to his granddaughter.

The Lonsdale brothers were all present, their faces pale.

"This is a setup," Forrest growled. "Lucian is the most paranoid, tactical operative on the planet. He doesn't just die in a mechanical failure."

Morris looked at Loyce with deep concern. "He has to be alive. Someone orchestrated this."

"But everything was resolved!" Hank ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "Why would anyone still be targeting him?"

Everyone slowly, carefully turned their eyes toward the center of the room, looking at Loyce.

She stood there, completely motionless. There were no tears. There was no screaming. There wasn't a single flicker of emotion on her face.

But the moment she heard the news, her amber eyes had contracted sharply before plunging into an abyss of terrifying, absolute cold.

She was so calm it was deeply unsettling.

Amidst the suffocating silence, the massive television in the room transitioned from commercials to the national news broadcast.

The anchor's voice was grave and heavy with forced sorrow. "We bring you tragic news. Our nation's youngest Admiral, the decorated hero Lucian Shapiro, who only recently returned from a victorious campaign, was killed in action today. While en route to a classified operation, his helicopter suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure and crashed in the western desert. He died in the line of duty. The President has expressed his deepest condolences..."

As the anchor spoke, blurry satellite footage played on the screen. Over a vast expanse of yellow sand, a tiny black dot plummeted from the sky before erupting into a blinding fireball and a thick plume of black smoke.
