Chapter 352 A Taste of Sweetness
Isabelle thought he was just tired, but instead, he wrapped an arm around her waist,
the words she’d been about to say.
The grape she was still holding tumbled to the grass.
So this was what he’d meant by “have a taste.”
Isabelle’s eyes widened as his lips parted hers, savoring the sweetness she carried.
He drew back slowly, his thumb brushing away a silvery trace from the corner of her mouth.
“The grapes are sweet.”
Later, Isabelle followed Damian toward the guest house at the rear of the property, still clutching a small bunch of grapes. There she discovered an entire garden bed of tulips, bordered by hydrangeas that bloomed through much of the year
He had taken every little detail Isabelle loved and brought it to life here, on a scale that took her breath away.
“Did you… plant these too?” Isabelle asked, looking at the man whose expression held quiet satisfaction.
He seemed very pleased with her reaction.
“Mhm,” he said, gently smoothing her hair.
The tulips here were already several inches high, meaning they’d been planted even before the ones at the penthouse
For a moment, Isabelle found herself at a loss for words.
His thoughtfulness, his attention to the smallest detail, felt almost overwhelming.
And yet, just weeks ago, she had hurt him deeply–body and soul–because of photos and rumors, leaving him wounded and withdrawn.
How could she not blame herself?
The fire last night didn’t feel like enough penance.
“Don’t cry.” His voice was soft, almost a gentle warning
It was true–pregnancy seemed to make her emotions swing so easily lately.
Damian caught the turn of her cheek.
The flushed corner of her eye glistened in the light.
He reached out and drew her firmly into his arms.
“I didn’t bring you here to make you sad or to keep score.”
Isabelle buried her face against his chest, unable to pull herself together for a long while.

this fenderness left her feeling unsteady, almost disoriented.
What could she possibly do for him in return?

Damian frowned slightly. He’d wanted to show her more of the grounds, but seeing her like this, he couldn’t continue her emotions were too raw right now.
He stroked her hair softly. “Alright, let’s go upstairs. You should rest for awhile.”
Isabelle took a steadying breath before finally murmuring, “Okay.”
Damian stayed with her until she fell asleep, then slipped out onto the balcony to take a call.
“Just give it a couple more days. I’m with my wife.”
After hanging up, he walked into the custom dressing room he’d designed for her, filled with dresses he’d commissioned and selected himself.
Every detail in this space carried his touch.
He’d thought these things would bring her joy, but instead, they seemed to deepen her guilt.
His mind felt tangled.
The better he treated Isabelle, the more she blamed herself, and the harder it became for her to let go of the past.
How could he ease her worry?
Damian’s headache was beginning to pulse again.
When Isabelle woke, it was already past four in the afternoon.
Downstairs, she could hear lively conversation and laughter.
She stretched slowly, arms arching over her head.
The bed was so comfortable she never wanted to leave. Between the plush mattress and the lingering drowsiness of pregnancy,
Γ she’d slept deeply and felt truly rested.
She picked up her phone and saw several messages from Diana, along with a missed call. The call log showed it had lasted over a minute–Damian must have answered.
But their recent chat history was full of Diana teasing him, more than sharing sisterly advice. If he’d scrolled through, things might feel a little awkward now
“You’re awake.” Damian’s voice came from the doorway.
Isabelle set her phone down. “Mhm.”
As she began to rise, he knelt and slid her slippers onto her feet.
“Diana and the others are here. They’re staying tonight. We’re grilling out later, I had the kitchen prepare some broth for you – try it when you come down.”
