The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 471

After finishing their tea, Catherine and Latonia headed back to the dining table. While they ate, Lance and Davis talked about business—just the usual small talk, nothing important or interesting. Catherine couldn't help but wonder why they even bothered meeting in person for such pointless conversation. Maybe they had already discussed any real business while she and Latonia were out of the room. It made sense, she supposed. She wasn’t part of SilverLeaf Industries anymore, so she had no reason to be involved in anything serious.

When lunch was over, Catherine joined Lance to walk the Lees out. Davis and Latonia got into their car, rolled down the windows, and both looked at Catherine before saying goodbye.

“Lance, I hope we’ll work well together,” Davis said.

Lance nodded. “Looking forward to your update.”

Catherine gave Latonia a warm smile. “See you around.”

Latonia smiled back. “I’m sure we’ll meet again.”

As the Lees’ car pulled away, a breeze caught Catherine’s hair and she quickly tucked it behind her ear. She turned to Lance.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll get going,” she said.

Lance pulled out his car keys. “Let me drive you.”

“It’s fine. I can grab a ride easily from here.”

He looked at her, saw the clear distance in her eyes, and didn’t insist.

“Alright.”

Catherine picked up her bag and started walking away. She’d only made it a few steps when Lance called out.

“Stay away from Geoffrey and his people.”

She paused and glanced back, but Lance was already heading to his car.

“Don’t worry, everything looks good,” Dr. Harrell said, noticing how tense she was. He smiled and motioned for her to relax.

She let out a breath and eased her body. “Is the baby still small for this stage?”

“You’re right on track. You just started showing later than most, so your bump’s a little smaller,” he explained, handing her a few tissues. “The amniotic fluid is fine, the baby’s in a good position, and everything looks perfect for a natural delivery. Keep resting at home, try not to go out too much, and you can do some light prenatal yoga. It’ll help when it’s time to give birth.”

He talked her through all the details while he jotted down notes from the checkup.

Catherine made sure to remember everything.

“That’s it for today. Next time you come in, just send me a message. No need to book in advance,” he said, handing her the printed report.

Catherine thanked him, then left the office, already absorbed in reading over the results.
