Sophia was the only one who hadn’t changed at all toward Claire, even after everyone found out about Claire’s true identity. The two of them strolled through the school gates, laughing and chatting as if nothing had happened.

“Claire!” Cindy had just stepped out of her car when she spotted Claire. She couldn’t help calling out to her.

Lance had driven Cindy to school that morning. When he saw her running, he yelled out, “Cindy, you forgot your backpack!”

Then he turned to Claire. “And you, Claire, Cindy told you to wait. Why are you walking away?”

Even Sophia couldn’t stand it. “What’s up with Lance? Just because Cindy tells you to wait, you have to listen? She’s not the queen. Her words aren’t law.”
