Una stood in front of the restroom mirror, gently touching her face, still amazed. “People from other countries call Solenia’s traditional medicine a miracle, and now I get why.”
She let out a soft sigh. “Back in med school, it never crossed my mind to combine Eastern and Western medicine.”
In her day, students of Western medicine rarely believed in traditional remedies.
Una never looked down on those old practices, but she’d always been drawn to the newer techniques from abroad.
When they came out, Barry immediately noticed something different about his student.
He looked at Claire, clearly impressed. “These days, most people just learn the basics of traditional medicine. Very few actually master it.”
He glanced at the clock. “It’s getting late. You’ve all seen what Claire can do. Now that you’re convinced, let’s figure out a plan to talk to the patient and their family.”
With that, Barry made up his mind.
Raleigh and Lay both nodded in agreement.
They were honestly hoping to witness a real breakthrough, something incredible that could only happen by blending both worlds of medicine.
If acupuncture could actually help treat bone cancer, it would give so many patients new hope.
“Lay, can you take Claire home?” Barry asked. After spending an evening together, everyone felt so much more comfortable with Claire.
Lay smiled. “Sure, I’ll drive—”
He didn’t get to finish. Claire’s phone rang.
“Sorry, I need to get this,” Claire said, glancing at her screen.
It was Edison.
“Claire, are you finished?”
Edison had heard from Pandora that Claire was at the hospital. Pandora was worried about her being alone and asked Edison to pick her up.
When Claire learned Edison was already waiting outside, she turned to Lay with an apologetic smile.
“My family came to get me, so I’ll head out. Thanks anyway, Dr. Hale.”
After Claire left, Barry looked at his two students.
They’d definitely seen and learned a lot today.
