The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 222

“If you ask me, Claire actually went easy on him. If she wanted to make it serious, she could have just called the police,” Adolph said, his words sharp and unfiltered. “Let him cool off in a holding cell for a few days, go home in shame, and forget about winter camp. Maybe even make him apologize in public.”

Adolph’s comments left Sean red-faced and embarrassed. He’d only listened to Carr’s version and got upset about how his student was treated, but what if things didn’t happen the way Carr said they did?

Norris turned to Fletcher. “Let’s bring Claire and Carr here. They need to talk it out, face to face.”

“I’ll get Claire, you get Carr,” Norris said, already heading out the door. Fletcher quickly followed after him.

Watching the two teachers leave so quickly, Sean started to realize he might have jumped to conclusions. But Adolph wasn’t about to let him off easy. “Sean, you can’t just speak up without knowing the facts. If judges decided cases based on their feelings like you, just imagine how many innocent people would be in jail. It’s bad enough that you see people through your own bias, but you also assume everyone else does too…”

Sean had nothing left to say. Swallowing his pride, he mumbled an apology.

The other teachers stayed quiet. Even Sammie sat perfectly still, but the look in his eyes said he wasn’t impressed with Sean either.

Norris made his way to the girls’ dorm. When he arrived, the dorm supervisor’s eyes lit up. “Norris, what brings you here?” Ms. Opal might have been in her fifties, but she still liked seeing a good-looking young man around. The pay for her job wasn’t great, but the view sometimes made up for it.

“Opal, could you help me call Claire?” Norris asked.

Norris noticed Claire’s silence and mistook it for fear. “Don’t worry. There were plenty of witnesses at lunch. Even if Sean tries to stir things up, the other teachers will be fair.”

Claire was a little surprised that Norris tried to reassure her. “Thank you, Norris. I’m not worried.”

They reached the office at almost the same time as Fletcher and Carr. When Carr saw Claire, he instinctively tried to hide behind Fletcher. The red mark from the slap was still on his face, and his side ached from being kicked. But more than that, he felt completely humiliated. He’d never been hit by a girl before.

Claire gave him a little smile, and Carr’s heart skipped a beat. He couldn’t deny that she was beautiful. But beautiful women were always trouble. That’s what all the TV shows said. Claire was no exception—she was trouble through and through. Why did she have to compete with guys for a spot in the competition? What was the point of a girl going to such a good school? She was just going to get married and become a housewife anyway. Studying so much was pointless.
