The Billionaire's True Heiress: From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 260

Tiffany blinked in disbelief. No way. How could someone like Claire, a girl straight from the countryside, afford clothes this nice? And that jade pendant... Tiffany wasn't exactly naive. After all those years mingling with the rich and powerful, she could spot real luxury when she saw it. She was sure Ophelia was lying. This was all just favoritism, plain and simple. Ever since Claire came back to the Churchill family, everything had changed.

In the past, all Tiffany needed to do was drop a hint and Ophelia or Karla would rush to buy something for Yolande. But now? Ophelia was making up stories, insisting the clothes were Claire's own. Who was she trying to fool?

“Ophelia, if it’s inconvenient to say, that’s fine. The clothes—” Tiffany started, but Claire jumped in before she could finish.

“It’s a special edition from SUNNY,” Claire said, her tone calm. “Tiffany, if you like it, you can absolutely get one for Yolande. I’d love to match with her.”

She touched her pendant, almost absentmindedly. “This jade is a family heirloom, but if you want something similar for Yolande, you should check out CLOUD. I’ve seen a few of their pieces. Some look a lot like mine.”

Claire sounded so confident, so matter-of-fact, that Tiffany almost believed her. Almost. But Tiffany wasn’t about to let her off that easy.

“SUNNY doesn’t even have shops in this country. Are you saying you went abroad just to buy it? With what money, Claire?” She narrowed her eyes. “Be honest, is that thing even real?”

Tiffany remembered the time Ophelia brought Yolande a SUNNY dress. She’d assumed it was just some random, cheap brand. She’d even secretly mocked Ophelia for being so stingy, going overseas and still not bringing back anything decent for Yolande. Then she looked it up online and realized SUNNY was a major luxury brand, and their prices were sky-high. That was why she was convinced Claire’s outfit had to be fake.

“Mom!” Yolande’s face flushed with embarrassment. “Why would you say that?” Even if Claire’s clothes were knockoffs, you couldn’t just come out and say it in front of her. How humiliating was that? Yolande stomped her foot, frustrated. She never should have let her mom drag her over here. Was this a family reunion or the start of some pointless feud?

Tiffany noticed the look Ophelia was giving her and quickly forced a laugh, covering her mouth. “Listen to me, always speaking before I think. Whether it’s real or not, as long as it looks good, right? It’s only a problem if you’re wearing fakes just to look fancy and show off. But Claire, now that you’re back in the Churchill family, you really can’t dress like this anymore, or people will talk. Your mother was famous in Cabinda. Imagine what people would say if they found out her daughter…”
