She suddenly got an idea when she spotted a long ruler left behind in the office, maybe by the math or geography teacher.

“Sir, don’t get upset. Use this!”

Jasper’s teacher barely had time to react before the ruler was pushed into his hand. He just stood there, stunned for a second. Still, out of habit, he gave Jasper a couple of light smacks.

With the security cameras recording everything, it shouldn’t be too much trouble even if Jasper’s parents came storming in later.

Jasper’s mom and Sophia’s mom arrived almost at the same time.

“How did you get into trouble again?” both moms demanded together.

“Mom, it wasn’t me this time. That kid was really asking for it,” Sophia said, shrinking a little under her mom’s stare. It was hard not to be intimidated when your mom owned a martial arts studio.

“And what made him so ‘asking for it’?” Sophia’s mom shot her a look.

“Why is my son always the one ‘asking for it’?” Jasper’s mom glared at Sophia.

Jasper’s mom looked a lot like him. She was big and tall, and she definitely had a strong presence. Most girls would be scared out of their wits. But Claire and Sophia weren’t most girls.

Sophia straightened up and said, “You’re Jasper’s mom, right? Just wait until you see the footage. You’ll see exactly why your son deserved what he got!”

After the moms watched the video, Sophia’s mom didn’t hesitate to praise her daughter. “Nice job. Kids like that need to be taught a lesson.”

Jasper’s mom’s face darkened. “My son just said a few harmless things. He was trying to help a classmate out. Why did he deserve to get beat up?”

“We need an explanation for all of this,” she insisted.

“And you teachers, what are you even doing? My son was lying on the ground and that brat still kicked him. Didn’t you see it?” Jasper’s mom looked like she was about to explode.

“Did you just call my daughter a brat?” Sophia’s mom’s expression turned cold.

“And what if I did?”

“And you, Claire, aren’t you that fake heiress from the James family?”
