The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 413

She found herself thinking that despite his stern and imposing aura—an almost untouchable elegance in the eyes of others—he transformed into someone else entirely during their intimate moments, someone secretly wild and passionate. She didn't have much experience in this department, nor did she have anyone to compare him to, so she couldn't tell if all men were like this or if it was just a Joseph thing.

"The water's getting cold. You should get out before you catch a chill."

Joseph tied the belt of his bathrobe and, seeing her still lingering in the tub, walked over and extended a hand.

Vivica blushed, her brow furrowed. "You go out first. I can manage on my own."

"Why?"

"No reason. Just go."

Even though they’d been married for a while, she was only comfortable being completely bare in front of him during moments of passion. Now that it was over, she couldn't bring herself to be so exposed.

Joseph chuckled helplessly, knowing what was making her self-conscious. He stepped forward, pulled her up, and simultaneously grabbed a large towel to wrap around her as he brought her into his arms.

“Relax,” he said, teasing. “I wasn’t looking.”

In reality, what difference did it make? He’d already seen, touched, and experienced everything.

Vivica bit her lip, her face flushing at his playful remark, unable to think of a comeback.

The next day, as they drove to the hospital, Vivica learned that he had a business trip scheduled for Sunday.

"You have to travel for work? But the holidays are just around the corner."

"I heard our department usually lets employees from out of town leave a day or two early, but local staff have to stay until the final day. And even during the holidays, if there's an emergency, local employees are the first ones called back to work overtime."

Joseph's expression grew thoughtful. "Have you considered changing jobs?"

"You don't like my current company?" Vivica asked, then a thought struck her. "Or is it that you don't like certain people in my department?"

"What do you mean?" Joseph glanced at her.

Vivica thought of the previous night, when he had seen Zavier walking her downstairs.

"Wasn't it because you wanted me to avoid Zavier?"

Joseph gave a faint smile. "In your eyes, am I really that petty?"
