Joseph pulled out the sonogram, unfolded it, glanced at it one last time, and then stood up to hand it to Sheridan and Melanie.
"This is the ultrasound Vivica got at Harvey Murphy's clinic this morning. Take a look for yourselves. But please, keep your emotions in check. Your health is the priority."
As he handed the paper over, he couldn't help but remind them again.
The elders took the sonogram and put on their reading glasses, huddled together to study it intently.
Chaim was still young and didn't know how to read, but seeing his grandparents so deeply engrossed, he poked his little head in and asked urgently, "Grandma, what is that? It's just a bunch of dark fuzzy spots..."
Squinting through their glasses, the elders were entirely too focused on deciphering the results to answer their grandson's question.
A moment later, Sheridan was the first to react. "T-Twins! It says right here, two gestational sacs. It's twins!"
"Yes, it's twins! Vivica is having twins! Oh my goodness, the heavens are truly smiling on the Baird family! Vivica is pregnant with twins!"
Melanie echoed her husband, her voice rising in a frantic, overjoyed shriek as she read the results clearly.
Watching his parents react like excitable toddlers—practically ready to jump up and cheer—Joseph couldn't stop a wide grin from spreading across his handsome face.
He turned to look at his wife, overwhelmed by a surge of affection. He leaned down to press a tender kiss to her temple, his arm tightening around her shoulder as he pulled her flush against his side.
Vivica felt a flash of bashfulness. They were right in front of the elders, and here he was being all sweet and clingy. She gave his chest a playful, gentle shove.
"Vivica, you're really having twins!"
Melanie said, as if she still couldn't quite believe it. Holding the sonogram, she moved to sit right beside Vivica, her eyes sparkling.
