Hillary nodded repeatedly with a warm smile. "I know. Just looking at Joseph's impeccable manners and character, it's obvious his parents are highly respectable people. Honestly, I should have prepared properly before visiting. Doing this tonight feels a bit too abrupt."
Catching her eye in the rearview mirror, Joseph spoke up politely, "Please don't worry. My parents are very easygoing and don't care about rigid formalities. By all rights, they should have been the ones to travel to Sydville City to visit you first. Today's arrangement might be a little rushed, but since the opportunity presented itself, it's wonderful that both sides of the family can finally meet."
"Yes, since we're already here, we absolutely must meet them," Hillary replied to Joseph, before turning her gaze back to Vivica, her eyes brimming with unmistakable maternal warmth.
Seeing the expression on her biological mother's face, Vivica offered a soft smile, though she wasn't quite sure what to say next.
She was still adjusting to this newfound closeness, but deep down, a profound warmth filled her chest.
No matter what had happened, she had uncovered the truth of her past and found her biological parents. They had generously handed over everything they owned to her, and they were genuinely pouring their hearts into making up for lost time. No matter how you looked at it, this was a beautiful, happy ending.
Now that she was pregnant and soon to be a mother of three herself, she was more than willing to look past everything with a forgiving heart.
As Joseph's car neared the grand estate, Melanie called.
Upon hearing they were only minutes away, Melanie hung up, immediately gathered her husband, and headed to the main gates to wait.
In the driver's seat, Joseph spotted his parents waiting outside from a distance. He glanced in the rearview mirror with a smile. "My parents are waiting for us at the gate."
Vivica looked out the window. Sure enough, there they were.
"Mom, Aunt Cheryl, those are my in-laws," Vivica announced, turning around to introduce them, a flutter of excitement in her chest.
Given the Baird family's sheer wealth and towering status, there were very few people in the world who could get Sheridan and Melanie to personally stand at the gates to welcome them.
Yet, they were showing immense respect to her family, waiting outside well in advance.
This gesture of profound respect made Vivica feel deeply grateful, and quietly proud.
