The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 619

Joseph grabbed a towel and immediately draped it over her head, gently rubbing her hair and face.

Vivica pulled the towel down enough to see him. "I'm fine, I barely got wet. You need to dry off!"

He had made the trek twice, and because she hadn't been able to hold the umbrella perfectly steady against the wind, he was completely drenched. Even with his raincoat, his dress shirt underneath was soaked through.

She reached out, throwing the towel over his shoulders, and began anxiously drying him off.

"I'm fine. A cold won't kill me, but you can't afford to get sick." He grabbed another fresh towel and wrapped it firmly around her shoulders.

They went back and forth, fussing over each other, burning precious time.

She finally surrendered. "Fine, fine, I'll do it myself! But you have to wipe down your clothes right now."

Of course, a towel could only do so much against clothes that wet.

Being a guy, Joseph didn't really care about sitting in damp clothes. He gave himself a cursory wipe-down, tossed the towel in the back, and started the engine, immediately blasting the heat.

"It'll probably take us at least forty minutes from here. Buckle up," he instructed as he pulled on his own seatbelt.

Vivica was mostly dry. Seeing his shirt still clinging wetly to his chest, she grabbed the last dry towel, leaned over, and draped it across his lap.

He glanced over at her, a small, knowing smile touching his lips.

If she was fussing over him like this, it meant the cold war of the past few days was officially over. She wasn't mad anymore.

Catching his smug smile, she knew exactly what he was thinking but pretended not to. She glared at him. "What are you smiling at!"
