The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 121

By the time evening rolled around, Laura finally heard about the fight. Franco had apparently punched Harris at the hospital earlier that day. As soon as she found out, she told her assistant to get the car ready and take her to Misty Vale.

On the way there, Laura thought about calling Galen. But even though Galen couldn’t keep a secret when it came to most things, he was always super discreet about anything involving Franco and the rest of their close-knit group. She knew she wouldn't get a straight answer from him no matter how she asked.

“Where did Franco hit Harris today?” she asked the bodyguard riding up front.

“In the audiology department at the White Group’s hospital,” he answered. “All anyone’s saying is that Franco hit Harris. I don’t know anything else.”

Audiology. Laura repeated the word in her mind. Instantly, she pictured Petty.

Of course. Today was Petty’s follow-up appointment for her eardrum injury.

How could she have forgotten that?

Franco was nothing if not loyal. He’d always treated Harris and Galen like real brothers. Everyone said the three of them were closer than family, while Owen always seemed like the odd one out.

Franco would never hit Harris for no reason. Even if something was wrong, he’d never let things get to the point of a physical fight.

The only thing that made sense was that Harris had finally confessed to Franco that he liked Petty.

Laura had known about Harris’s feelings for a while. He’d kept it hidden so carefully that she’d only found out by accident. Franco was even more perceptive than she was. He’d probably suspected for ages, but since Harris never acted on it, Franco let it go.

Being jealous wasn’t enough to make Franco lose it. And Petty would never do anything to betray Franco while they were still married.

So what on earth had pushed him to the edge like this?

A sharp, cold glint flickered in Laura’s eyes as the thought crossed her mind.

When the car reached Misty Vale, it had to stop at the security checkpoint.
