The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 251

Jackson let out a quiet sigh. He could tell she was still upset about what happened in the courtyard earlier, but there was nothing he could really say to make it better. All he could do was remind her, “Drink some milk and get some rest, okay? Looking at your phone for too long is bad for your eyes.”

“Alright. You should get some sleep too.” She reached for the glass on the table and took a few sips of milk. Jackson used to do this for her all the time back when she lived at The White Estate, always making sure she had warm milk before bed.

Jackson had known her since she was a kid. With him nearby, Petty always felt a little safer.

After she finished her milk, Petty headed to the bathroom to take a shower and brush her teeth. When she checked her sanitary pad, it was still clean, barely any blood at all.

This period was all wrong. She wondered if it had anything to do with all the stress she’d been under lately. She’d heard that your mood could mess with your cycle.

Her thoughts wandered back to that night on the island, when Franco had held her over and over again. There was nothing on that isolated beach, and it’s not like Franco could have brought protection while rescuing her. So they hadn’t done anything to prevent it that night.

Then as soon as they got back to Cabinda, everything fell apart with her grandma, and she totally forgot to take her pill.

Could it really be that?

Petty’s fingers curled tight. “No way,” she whispered.

She grabbed her phone in a panic and typed into the search bar: Can you bleed while you’re pregnant?

The page loaded, and there it was— “implantation bleeding”—hooking her attention and refusing to let go.

She started trying to remember exactly when things happened. The night on the island... that was the twenty-fifth of the lunar month. The first time she noticed bleeding was on New Year’s Day. Five days apart.

But the website said implantation bleeding usually happens six to twelve days after, not five.

Still, she was only off by a day. Was it possible?
