The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 331

"I don't want to stay in the hospital anymore. I just want to go home and sleep."

She knew Hans would say yes. He'd probably move the hospital into their living room if it meant she could rest in her own bed.

She was just about to roll over when someone suddenly pulled the blanket off her. A big, warm hand pressed against her back, and another slid beneath her knees.

Hans could barely walk these days, so there was no way this was him carrying her.

Caught completely off guard, she looked up and found herself staring into a pair of cold, dark eyes. Petty froze, her face darkening instantly. She didn’t even try to hide the anger and irritation in her eyes.

She hadn’t expected him. For a second, she just stared, stunned, and then, without any hesitation, she raised her hand to slap him.

But the hand at her back caught her wrist in a blink. His fingers were warm and just a little rough, not gripping hard at all, but she still couldn’t break free or land a hit.

Franco looked down at her, taking in her pale face with a steady, unreadable gaze. "Why are you in the hospital?"

"What’s it to you?" Her tone was flat, her expression shut down.

Aaron was supposed to be standing guard at the door, but Franco walked in like this place belonged to him. Jay had probably gotten to Aaron again and cleared the way.

"I asked what’s wrong with you." Franco’s eyes dropped to her lips and lingered there.

Her lips were always a healthy, pretty red. Now they were washed out and colorless. He would notice that, of course.
