The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 359

But he didn’t.

Petty was still in a daze when the bathrobe slipped from her hands, the towel and a set of underwear tumbling out as she tried to gather herself. She finally managed to put the robe on and stepped out of the bathroom, but Franco was already gone.

She walked over to the big window, towel in hand, as she started drying her hair. This spot was right in the center of the villa, facing the same direction as the main entrance.

She paused, her hand frozen in mid-air. Outside, beyond a sea of flowers, Franco was walking down the stone path. He was utterly drenched and moving fast, though she couldn’t tell where he was headed.

Why was he out there, soaking wet?

His stride only grew faster and longer, carrying him straight toward the ocean. Franco almost never let his emotions show, but right now, even from behind, he looked completely on edge, like he could explode at any second.

A cool breeze swept in from another window, tossing her half-dried hair into her eyes. She clutched the towel tighter and watched as Franco reached the shoreline and, without even hesitating, dove right into the sea.

It wasn’t just hesitation he lacked, it was like he couldn’t wait another second.

If he hadn’t jumped in, maybe he really would’ve burst.

Petty’s heart raced. She forced herself to look away and started searching for a hairdryer. It was nowhere to be found, so she drifted back to the window, picked up the towel draped over the chair, and kept drying her hair.

Waves rolled onto the shore again and again, steady and relentless.

Time passed. Her hair was almost completely dry, thanks to the salty breeze, when Franco finally resurfaced out in the water.

He just stayed there in the ocean. Maybe his clothes were bothering him, clinging to his skin, because she watched him tear his shirt off and toss the ruined fabric aside. Then he dove under again.
