The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 377

Franco’s hand clenched tightly at his side.

The doctor looked serious. For the first few months after the baby was born, he couldn’t even drink milk. Eventually, his little body started getting stronger and he could handle feeding. They all thought he was going to get better from then on. But then, out of nowhere, this rare disease showed up.

Still no sign of a suitable bone marrow donor.

“Has he cried much these last few days?” the doctor asked gently.

The doctor shook his head. “Not really. When he sleeps, he’s very quiet.”

Franco just stared at the screen, watching the baby’s tiny face. Even asleep, the resemblance to Petty was almost unreal, like they were made from the same mold.

“He’s sleeping so much lately… does that mean he’s getting weaker?” Franco’s voice was barely above a whisper.

He had gotten the hospital’s call while on the island with Petty. That was when he decided it was time to bring her back early.

The doctor seemed weighed down by guilt. “Franco, the baby’s too frail. He might not last another six months.”

Franco stood there, still and silent in front of the monitor, as if everything around him had just… stopped. He didn’t move for a long time. When he finally reached out to turn off the monitor and lock the room, it felt like years had passed.

Just before he left the hospital, Jay called.

Franco got in the car and told his bodyguard to drive. They headed for a quiet villa, pulling into the underground garage.

Franco stepped out and walked straight toward the basement. This was the place he had used before Christmas to interrogate the men who tried to kill Petty. Jay had already dealt with those people. Today, it was Laura waiting inside.

He pushed open the basement door and saw Laura, her hands and feet locked in metal cuffs.

“Franco!” Laura stumbled toward him, her voice full of hope and desperation.
