The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 452

Galen's breath caught in his throat.

"Every single thing you just listed is a death sentence! You really... You actually had someone erase her memories!"

Franco lowered his eyes, his gaze dead and hollow. "There was no other way."

"No, you had other ways. Erasing her memories wasn't your only option. You just refuse to admit you couldn't bear to lose her. You could have just let her go."

"Impossible."

Before Galen could even finish his sentence, Franco shot him down instantly.

Galen knew that, of course. Otherwise, Franco wouldn't have gone to the extreme of wiping Petty's memories.

Hell, even Galen wished he could use a method like that to erase someone's memory.

He thought back to the horrific scene in Petty's hospital room, a lingering dread washing over him.

"She was already trying to leave Cabinda before all this. Now, the grudges involving your parents and her parents are all piled together. There is absolutely zero chance she'll stay by your side. Are you planning to erase her memories again?"

Franco stared down at the scratches on his hands. When he had refused to let go of Petty's hand, she had clawed at him so desperately it broke the skin.

"She couldn't handle it anymore."

Galen froze.

Right at that moment, the elevator chimed, arriving at the top floor's intensive care ward.

As Galen wheeled Franco out of the elevator, he spotted a familiar nurse sprinting out of the pediatric ICU, frantically making a beeline for the doctor's office.

Seconds later, the doctor dashed out of the office.

"What's wrong?!" Franco demanded, his voice dropping an octave.

The doctor spotted Franco and said grimly, "Abacus was asleep, but his heart rate suddenly spiked, and his blood pressure plummeted."

"He's going into shock."

Galen choked up, quickly turning his head away, unable to bear the sight of the little boy.

"Yeah, Papa is right here." Franco reached out, wrapping his gloved hand carefully around Abacus's tiny, outstretched one, mindful not to squeeze too hard and hurt him. There were still IV bruises on the boy's little hand.

Abacus's eyelids fluttered. He slowly closed his exhausted eyes, then suddenly forced them open again to check if Franco was still there. Only when he was sure did he finally let his eyes drift shut.

Franco's eyes burned red. His trembling fingertips gently brushed against Abacus's cheek.

Abacus's condition had deteriorated. If they couldn't find a matching bone marrow donor within a month...

And even if they managed to save Laura, they still had to clear the toxins from her system and allow her blood to regenerate.

A month wasn't anywhere near enough time.

Franco lifted the boy's tiny hand, pressing a kiss against it through his sterile mask.

Right at that moment, the doctor practically sprinted over, his voice trembling with barely contained excitement. "Mr. White, we just got incredible news from the bone marrow registry!"
