The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 470

The air in the hallway instantly froze.

Seeing Petty there, hearing her hysterical, earth-shattering question, made Franco's heart violently seize in his chest.

His face fell into darkness. Suppressing his ragged, trembling breaths, he rushed to her side.

"It's not what you think."

Hans ran out right behind him, completely blindsided. He had no idea she was out here, and that she had overheard their entire conversation.

"You're just exhausted, your mind is playing tricks on you. Let's get you back to your room," Hans urged, placing his hands firmly on the handles of the wheelchair.

Behind the chair, Jackson's face was ashen. He looked down at the violently sobbing Petty, his heart breaking for her.

"Miss Petty."

Jackson reached out, trying to pry her hands away from where she was viciously pulling her own hair. But Franco beat him to it, reaching in from the side and gently but firmly forcing her rigid, cramping fingers open.

"I already told you—"

Petty slammed her hands down onto the armrests. Her hollow, devastated eyes overflowed with tears. It was as if she couldn't hear a word Franco was saying. She just kept repeating the same desperate demand.

"Just answer me! Is it true?!"

She looked up at the man standing inches away, her tear-blurred vision filled with nothing but pure, unadulterated agony and despair.

Deep down, right before the explosion, she had already pieced the horrifying truth together. That was why she had recklessly charged at Laura, desperate for revenge.

But after the blast, her traumatized brain had fought desperately to suppress that horrifying realization. She had spent the last few days in a daze, blocking out the darkest memories.

Hearing Hans and Franco's conversation had shattered the cage. The truth slammed into her mind like a physical blow.

Thinking about the unspeakable torment her baby must have endured, she opened her mouth, struggling to push the sound past her lips.

"You've lied to me about everything else. Are you really going to lie to me about this too?"
