The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1295

Inside the study, Allanson lifted the lid of the chalcedony box and revealed a white test tube cradled in red velvet. The clear liquid inside caught the light and shimmered with strange, beautiful colors. The world’s one and only antidote… He wondered just how much resolve she really had.

“Mr. Allanson, Mr. Aloys is here to see you,” the butler said respectfully as he stepped in.

“Let him in.”

Allanson didn’t want to risk contaminating the antidote, so he closed the box almost immediately, slipped it into a drawer, and then settled into the main seat, cradling his tea as he took a slow sip.

“Father.” Aloys entered, Marcia following close behind. Both of them looked tense, their faces matching in their displeasure.

Their tactics had been way too simplistic. They never saw it coming. Allanson’s moves were so precise and calculated, he’d tracked down G5 like it was nothing.

“Grandfather.” Marcia paused, her eyes scanning the study. When she didn’t spot the antidote, she frowned. “I heard you caught G5. Did she still have the antidote?”

Charlotte never managed to develop a cure. Mr. Churchill would definitely want one too. The antidote G5 had was the only one that existed. If Marcia could get it, she’d finally have some leverage to negotiate with the Churchill family.

“That’s not something you need to worry about,” Allanson replied, putting down his tea and giving Marcia a cold look. He cleared his throat and his tone dropped. “What do you want?”

Marcia’s face turned even paler as she glanced at Aloys.

“Father,” Aloys said, lifting his head, his eyes hard with concern. “Now that you’ve caught G5, what do you plan to do next?”
