The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1553

In the end, Norma gave Kenneth back everything he’d brought with him.

“Emily’s still recovering, and you two are just dating,” Norma said, her voice calm. “As for marriage, we’ll see how things go. I won’t stand in your way anymore. But…” She stopped for a moment, her eyes soft as she looked at Kenneth. “If you make Emily suffer, I’ll take her away from you, no questions asked.”

Kenneth gave her a small, respectful smile. “That won’t happen.”

Honestly, with Emily’s family behind her—and with Lottie looking out for her—he couldn’t even imagine hurting Emily. He wouldn’t dare. He cared about her way too much.

He turned to Emily. “Try to get some rest the next couple of days. As soon as I have the antidote, I’ll bring it straight to you.”

Emily stood quietly behind her mom, her gaze locked on Kenneth. She nodded. “You need to let your hand heal too,” she said softly.

Charlotte had warned her about Kenneth not taking care of himself. If he kept pushing it, his hand might never recover.

“Let’s head out,” Anthony said, wrapping an arm around Charlotte’s waist. Just as they started to leave, Lavinia called out from behind them.

“Wait!”

They both paused and looked back. Lavinia stood in front of Matthew, arms folded, looking a little annoyed.

“Is something wrong?” Anthony asked, lowering his voice.

“I’ll send you the wedding details later,” Lavinia said, her tone all business as she locked eyes with him. “Lottie’s pregnant, so she can’t move around a lot. Go through everything and tell me if anything needs fixing—fast.”

“Alright,” Anthony replied. He looked down at Charlotte, realizing she had probably forgotten about the wedding again. All he could do was sigh. “Thanks, Mom. You’re the best.”
