The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1555

“Yes, they really need someone to set them straight.” Anthony poured her a glass of warm water and handed it over, playing along with her mood. “Still planning to go?” he asked.

“Of course,” Charlotte said. Bracing one hand on the sink, she sipped her water. The taste settled her stomach a little, but her voice came out rough. “I won’t let them get away with those bad habits.”

If they didn’t focus on their studies, they’d just end up coming home to inherit billions. Truth be told, studying was way easier than trying to run the family business.

“You’ve got a point.” Anthony’s eyes flickered toward her stomach, deep and warm. His face softened, full of doting affection. “Alright then, let me drive you.”

For a second, it was hard to say who deserved more sympathy: Charlotte, still battling morning sickness, or the little ones in her belly, already being called out by their mom.

After breakfast, Anthony insisted on driving Charlotte to Kingswood University himself.

He parked the sports car. As Charlotte grabbed her backpack and leaned forward to hop out, Anthony caught her wrist, stopping her.

She froze, looking back with clear, curious eyes. “Something wrong?”

“Just be careful,” Anthony said, reaching out to smooth her hair. His voice was gentle. “I’ll pick you up this afternoon.”

“Heading back to the office?” Charlotte turned and laced her fingers through his, giving his hand a little squeeze.

He smiled, leaning in until his elegant features were just a breath away. He kissed her softly at the corner of her mouth and laughed. “Gotta earn money for all that baby formula.”

Charlotte arched a brow, a faint smile stretching her lips. She tapped his chin, teasing, her tone playful. “Then you’d better work hard.”

With that, Charlotte popped open the car door and slung her bag over one shoulder, stuffing her hands in her pockets. She walked off with a cool confidence that looked totally effortless.

Everyone froze, then turned as one. At the entrance stood Charlotte, leaning casually, looking relaxed as ever.

Under the brim of her cap, her pale, delicate features were impossible to miss.

“Charlotte!” someone shouted.

She’d been gone nearly two months, and now she had returned. The students in her program couldn’t hide their excitement, some practically jumping in place. “Charlotte’s finally back!”

As soon as the words were out, several students hurried toward her, though even in their excitement, they kept a respectful distance. Her presence was magnetic, drawing stares but holding everyone in check.

“It’s been a while,” Charlotte said. She took off her cap, letting her wavy hair fall softly over her shoulders. She wasn’t wearing any makeup, but the warm sunlight caught her face, making her natural beauty almost too striking to look away from.
