The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1677

“What’s happening right now?”

“Is Shirley actually Patricia’s goddaughter?”

“If she’s connected to the Blair family, there’s no way she’d have to trade her body for a scholarship, right?”

“Then how do you explain the text messages?”

Everyone in the room went quiet, all eyes flicking back to Patricia and Shirley. Patricia was being so warm to Shirley, holding her close, chatting with her, and shooting icy glares at the reporters and school officials standing nearby. The mood in the room was tense, and it felt like everyone was silently second-guessing themselves.

Off in the corner, Karan and Pandora could only stare, too stunned to speak.

“What’s going on?” Karan turned to Pandora, eyes wide and disbelieving. “Pandora, I thought you said Charlotte was the only one supporting Shirley?”

Who the heck was Patricia, and why was she suddenly part of this?

“I…” Pandora felt dizzy, her thoughts all tangled up. She honestly couldn’t figure it out. Just a little while ago, Dorothy was saying Patricia didn’t even know Shirley, that she’d be on their side if anything happened.

“Don’t stress,” Karan said, noticing the sweat glistening on Pandora’s forehead. She grabbed Pandora’s hand, squeezing it as if she could lend her some calm. “There aren’t any cameras, and nobody saw her phone leave. Even if Patricia showed up out of nowhere, we’re fine. Nothing is gonna go wrong.”

She hesitated, her voice turning a little rough. “Besides, my grandpa’s coming to the university today. If anything does explode, he’ll have our backs.”

“Are you sure, Karan?” Pandora’s voice was tiny. She looked so nervous her hands barely stopped shaking.

“Trust me. He will.” Karan sounded rock solid, like nothing could touch her. She took a deep breath and said, “Grandfather loves us the most. He wouldn’t ever let Shirley ruin me twice.”

Charlotte reached out and gently pinched Stella’s cheek. She seemed to hesitate, then leaned in a little and whispered, “Don’t tell Anthony about any of this.”

Stella shot her a look, eyes wide with disbelief and a little hurt. If she’d known Charlotte was scared of Anthony, she would’ve mentioned him right from the start.

“Let’s go,” Charlotte said. She was already pulling out her phone. As soon as she saw what was trending online, her stride slowed and a small, satisfied smile appeared on her lips. “We don’t need to hurry anymore.”

“Huh?” Stella looked at her, confused. After racing all this way, now Charlotte was acting like there was nothing urgent?

Charlotte just nodded at her phone. “Looks like Shirley has another person looking out for her now. That’s a good thing.”

Stella looked down at her own screen. The minute she saw the video, it all clicked.
