The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1966

"Who's getting thrown out?"

Roger walked with rapid strides, his breathing slightly uneven, clearly having jogged over.

"Dr. Gates, she..."

Veronica opened her mouth, ready to complain that Charlotte was deliberately causing trouble.

Roger completely ignored Veronica. He walked right past her and stopped squarely in front of Charlotte.

Because the girl was seated, Roger half-crouched to be at eye level with her. He asked gently, "Are you upset I came out?"

"Why would I be?"

Roger frowned slightly, pausing for a moment before asking softly, "How long have you been here?"

"Oh, just a bit."

Charlotte lifted her eyes, her gaze drifting toward a visibly shell-shocked Veronica, clearly unamused.

"What's wrong?"

Noticing her expression, and then seeing the awkward looks on Veronica's and the guard's faces, he furrowed his brow. "Who made you mad?"

"Her! She pissed me off!"

Charlotte didn't hold back, pointing a finger straight at Veronica. "Your Dr. Ham called me a nobody and told security to kick me out."

"Did you really just call me a nobody? To my own brother?!"

Brother?!

Hearing that word, Veronica's eyes nearly popped out of her head.

When she had looked into the Gates family's background, she knew they had a highly renowned daughter.

Could it be...

She was Roger's sister, not his girlfriend?!

Which meant.

From the very beginning, she had offended the completely wrong person!

"I didn't..." Veronica frantically waved her hands, desperate to explain.

"Didn't what?" The pregnant girl wasn't having it. She scoffed coldly. "Didn't act passive-aggressive and accuse me of causing trouble? Didn't say I had a diva attitude?"

Veronica: "No..."

"Or did you not tell security to throw me out after I called my brother?"
