"Okay."
Anthony didn't dare provoke her right now. He agreed to whatever she said, his voice endlessly gentle. "I made your favorite Chestnut Pastry and sweet Pumpkin Porridge. Want to try some?"
"..."
Charlotte peeked into the dining room, her expression still clearly displeased. "After I eat, I'm going to bring Frederick and Ophelia back."
With them out of the house, it just made it too easy for this man to do whatever he pleased.
"Whatever you say."
Anthony ended his video call and guided his wife to the dining table, thoughtfully serving her portions of everything. "We'll go pick them up as soon as you finish eating."
Seeing how accommodating he was being, Charlotte's mood improved slightly.
—
The Blair Estate.
Charlotte was dressed in a high-necked cashmere sweater, paired with a long black wool coat that completely covered her neck.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, Anthony instinctively pulled her into his arms, coaxing her softly, "Can you walk? Do you want me to carry you?"
"Shut up."
Charlotte glared at him, pushing him away and picking up her pace.
"Heh."
Anthony let out a soft chuckle, jogging slightly to catch up. Taking her hand, he brought it to his lips for a kiss. "Your husband will hold your hand."
"..."
Charlotte stared at him for two seconds before giving up. She didn't push him away again, obediently walking by his side.
Just as they reached the entrance, they heard Ophelia's babbling, giggling laughter.
Stepping further inside, the couple frowned simultaneously.
They saw Lavinia holding a toy, Matthew's face covered in colorful stickers...
Even the elderly Patricia had a pair of goofy reindeer antlers on her head.
The elders, along with the household staff, were exhausting themselves trying to entertain the two babies. The living room was filled with joyous laughter.
"..."
Frederick maintained his usual stoic composure. He didn't cry or laugh. When the noise became truly unbearable, he simply furrowed his brows and kicked his tiny feet.
Ophelia, on the other hand...
Whenever someone spoke, she answered right back.
Ah, oh, babbling away...
