"My timing... really isn't the best," Mia chuckled behind her hand, walking in to set the thermos on the table. "You were barely replying to my texts yesterday, and I was wondering if you two were fighting again. But looking at things now, I clearly overthought it."

Rhys, shameless as ever, held firmly onto Clara's hand as she tried to pull it back. "Nothing like that."

Mia ignored her nephew and turned to Clara. "Clara, why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell?"

Clara instinctively exchanged a glance with Rhys.

He squeezed her hand reassuringly.

She had originally planned to wait until he was discharged before breaking the news, but seeing the genuine worry in Mia's eyes, Clara couldn't suppress the surge of joy in her chest any longer.

"Aunt Mia, I'm not feeling unwell. I just... I went to get a checkup."

Mia paused. "Is it..."

Rhys finished the sentence for her, the unconcealed happiness crinkling the corners of his eyes. "Aunt Mia, you're going to be a great-aunt again."

Her eyes widened as she looked from Rhys to Clara. Her lips trembled for a long moment before her own eyes grew misty.

"Good... Good..." Mia mumbled incoherently, pressing her hands together in gratitude. "Thank God. Rhys, you're having another little one. You have to stay strong for me, do you hear?"

Rhys nodded, his gaze locked entirely on Clara. "I hear you, Aunt Mia."

Mia hadn't even finished her emotional speech when Elena and Marcus pushed the door open.

They had just come to drop off some food, but the moment they stepped inside, they were completely stunned by Mia's words.

"What do you mean, another little one... Are you pregnant?" Elena dropped the lunchboxes onto a chair, closing the distance to the bed in three frantic strides.
