The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 149

It made sense. In their minds, Leilani was just a cheap country bumpkin. If not for a pretty face, how could she possibly associate with celebrities and aristocrats?

Zeus walked down the steps to stand in front of her, his voice lowered but every word laced with venom. "What is your relationship with him? You looked so intimate just now. Did you go and become someone's mistress?"

Zeus remembered that Marlon had just married the daughter of the Lawsons not long ago. Leilani acting so close to him—what was she if not the other woman?

The more Zeus thought about it, the more he felt this was the truth. His look at Leilani became increasingly filled with disdain and mockery.

"When did you climb onto the Watsons? Do you know he's already married? Intervening in someone else's relationship? How cheap!"

Sure enough, a trashy girl raised in the countryside.

Leilani chuckled, completely filtering out his attacks, showing no anger whatsoever. Her gaze toward Zeus was cold and sarcastic. "Since when are you so interested in my private life? And didn't you know? I cut ties with you long ago. Whether I'm a mistress or not has nothing to do with you. Who are you to stand here and accuse me?"

Zeus's jaw tightened, the gaze behind his lenses growing sharper. "Leilani, you know the Watsons' background. He's not sincere about you; he'll just play with you and toss you aside. Don't disgrace the Sloan family for money."
