Afraid Zeus still didn't get it, the intermediary kept a smile on his face while warning him through gritted teeth.
"Think carefully. You know exactly who Mr. Dillon is. If you dare to cause a scene here, forget about joining his team—you won't even keep your job as an attending physician at the hospital!"
That struck Zeus's fatal weak point. The interview was already a bust; he couldn't afford to lose his job too. He had no choice but to swallow his pride today.
Having thought it through, Zeus violently shook off the intermediary's hand, turned around in a huff, and strode out.
At the door, Zeus looked back one last time.
Leilani stood by the window, the sunlight streaming through the glass and bathing her in a glow that made her look serene yet dazzling. From beginning to end, she maintained that calm composure, never sparing him another glance.
The last thing Zeus heard was Floyd remarking to Leilani, "Your family's genetics are interesting. One is in the sky, the other in the mud."
Leilani's reply gave Zeus heart palpitations.
"Genetics are funny. Sometimes you get a mutation."
The door clicked shut gently, and Leilani vanished from his sight.
...
After Zeus left, the intermediary apologized profusely to Leilani and Floyd before chasing after him. This matter wouldn't be truly over until he got Zeus out of the villa complex. If Zeus lingered and wandered into restricted areas, they would all be finished.
Outside the villa, the sunlight was blinding.
