The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 213

Zoey was so angry her chest heaved violently as she pointed at him and shouted abuse. "You think you're some kind of prize? You dress like a preening peacock all day, flirting everywhere. You're just a man-whore!"

Micah's smile froze, and his eyes narrowed dangerously. "Zoey, say that again?"

Zoey sneered. "What? Did I hit a nerve? Who doesn't know that the women you have slept with could probably circle the city three times? Why pretend to be innocent?"

Micah's expression turned completely cold, his tone grim. "I recall the Yetman family is currently discussing that land in the South District with the Locke family. Speaking so recklessly... I assume you don't want the deal?"

The land in the South District was the most important project in the recent cooperation between the Yetman Group and the Locke Group. Zoey's father, Karl Yetman, hadn't come to the auction because he was busy preparing the project proposal for that very land. Otherwise, he wouldn't have sent Zoey.

Zoey's expression froze, then she gritted her teeth. "Are you threatening me?"

Micah slowly adjusted his cuffs, his tone light and airy. "I'm just reminding you that loose lips sink ships."

Zoey clenched her fists, glaring at him deathly hard, before finally letting out a cold hmph and storming off.

Micah watched her retreating back and smirked contemptuously. "Idiot." He looked down at the pink diamond in his hand, his eyes dark and unreadable.

Micah had his assistant bring the car around to the main entrance. As soon as he got in, the assistant turned to him in the back seat and whispered a report.

"Mr. Locke, I checked. That Ms. Sloan is from Alloy City. Her background looks clean, but..."

"But what?"

"Her relationship with Mr. Langley... is indeed unusual."

The assistant hesitated. "Mr. Langley has been frequently visiting her apartment recently. In fact... they live in the same building."

Micah's fingers paused, and he suddenly smiled. "Interesting."
