The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 396

Letty shot a sharp glance at Reese, her eyes narrowing. "Out of place? These herbal packs were hand-mixed by Leilani herself. Countless people would pay a fortune for them, yet here you are, turning your nose up at a gift you got for free?"

Letty snatched the gift box back from the table in front of Reese, her voice cold. "Since you don't appreciate them, Dad and I will split Leilani's gifts between us. We wouldn't want her thoughtfulness to go to waste on the ungrateful."

Reese's face fell at being publicly reprimanded. Humiliated, she turned to Dante with a look of aggrieved innocence. "Dad, look at what Letty is saying... I was just being honest. How does speaking the truth make me the bad guy?"

Reese still held onto a sliver of hope that Dante would speak up for her.

Instead, the old patriarch slowly sipped his coffee, not even bothering to lift his eyelids.

"I have experienced Leilani's medical skills firsthand," Dante said calmly. "The medicine she formulates works well for me."

His stance was clear: he was siding with Leilani.

After placing his cup down, Dante didn't let the matter rest. He seized on Reese's earlier sarcastic remarks to lecture her, effectively venting Leilani's frustrations for her. "And Reese, since you brought it up, frankly, those foreign products you idolize can't compare to our country's traditional remedies. It's one thing if you don't support our cultural heritage, but blindly worshipping anything foreign? That is not the way of the Langley family."

Reese choked on her words, her expression darkening further.
