The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 426

Tamara lowered her eyes, teardrops still clinging to her lashes, projecting an image of fragile obedience.

"No need, Della. I just need to rest a bit..."

As she spoke, Tamara wiped away a tear and lifted her face, forcing a strained smile for the housekeeper.

Although Tamara was smiling, Della could clearly see the bitterness and sorrow in her eyes.

"You know how strict Mom is with me right now," Tamara whispered. "She doesn't allow me to go out freely. In the entire Sherwood household, you're the only one who treats me well, Della. I don't want to trouble you further or make Mom unhappy with you."

She hesitated before continuing, "But... if you really are worried about me, perhaps I could trouble you to go to the pharmacy and buy some medicine for me? I think if I take some medicine and rest, I'll be fine."

Della sighed, her gaze turning increasingly affectionate. Even in a situation like this, Tamara's first thought was for others, not herself. How could such a kind girl be the "viper" the Master and Mistress made her out to be?

Della patted Tamara's hand sympathetically. "Oh, you are just too considerate! With such a sweet nature, I just don't understand how they could misunderstand you so terribly."

Tamara lowered her head in perfectly timed dejection.

Seeing this, Della quickly comforted her. "It will be okay. You are a good person. They will realize the truth one day."

A trace of mockery flashed through Tamara's eyes, invisible to Della, before vanishing instantly. She grasped Della's hand, her tone earnest. "Della, you are so good to me. In this house, you're the only family I have."
