The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 432

Zeus listened to her weeping, his brow furrowing deeper with every sob. He had always disliked people crying in front of him, and even Tamara, his favorite sister, was no exception.

When she finally finished her litany of complaints, Zeus sighed and looked at her with a mix of pity and disappointment. "I told you a long time ago that Milford wasn't a good match. There were plenty of boys chasing you back then, many far more outstanding than him. But you insisted on hanging yourself from the Sherwood family tree. Now that you're suffering, do you understand?"

Tamara bit her lip, not daring to argue. Zeus was right. When she had first insisted on getting engaged to the Sherwoods, the rest of the family had no objections, but Zeus had disapproved. Tamara was only eighteen at the time, and Zeus felt Milford was unreliable. He had urged her to reconsider, telling her there was no need to tie herself to the Sherwoods so desperately.

But back then, hearing that Milford wanted to get engaged, Tamara was already lost in her dream of marrying into prestige. She couldn't hear a word of Zeus's advice.

It was a self-fulfilling prophecy. She hadn't listened, and now that she was married, she was miserable.

Tamara felt wronged. She was already suffering enough; instead of comforting her, Zeus was saying, "I told you so." What was the point of bringing up the past now?

But terrified of annoying him further, she remained silent. Having lived under the same roof for years, she knew better than anyone that Zeus detested weepy displays.

Sure enough, seeing her fall silent, Zeus softened slightly and didn't scold her further. He changed the subject abruptly. "By the way, Tamara, did you know Leilani has medical skills?"
