Glitz Entertainment had already come up with a solution for him, yet he refused. If he was going to be that obstinate, then he was digging his own grave.
Glitz Entertainment was a titan in the industry; for Clive to think he could offend the company and walk away unscathed was nothing short of a delusion. Getting skinned alive would be a mercy compared to what was coming.
After the scene that had just unfolded, Luke had lost all patience for trying to reason with him. The company had already assigned a new rookie for him to manage, and technically, Clive’s contract was as good as terminated. Whatever happened to him now was no longer Luke’s concern. If not for the history they shared over the past few years, Luke wouldn’t have wasted a second thought on whether he lived or died.
Luke sighed, picking up his briefcase. Before leaving, he cast a look of pity mixed with mockery at Clive.
"Fine. You’re high and mighty. You have a backbone," he sneered. "And I’m the spineless one. I just hope when your creditors drive you into a corner, you can stay this tough and not regret the choice you made today."
Walking to the door, Luke glanced back at Clive, who was still sitting with his back ramrod straight. He sighed one last time, offering a final piece of advice.
"I know you tore up the card, but I’ve emailed Winifred’s contact information to you. For the sake of the last four years, I’m giving you one last chance. If you change your mind, contact me anytime."
The office door slammed shut, and the room returned to a heavy silence.
